Troubleshooting Webcam Access Issues for the Assessment Platform
If you're experiencing difficulties with webcam access on our assessment platform, don't worry! This issue typically arises when webcam permissions are disabled. Follow the steps below to resolve this and get back on track with your assessment.
1. Enable Webcam Permission in Google Chrome
Open Google Chrome: Launch the browser on your device.
Access the Assessment URL: Navigate to the assessment platform.
Adjust Camera Permissions: Click on the lock icon located next to the URL in the address bar. A dropdown menu will appear. Here, find the "Camera" option and set it to "Allow." This step is crucial as it grants the platform access to your webcam.
Restart Chrome: Close the browser completely and then reopen it to ensure the changes take effect.
2. Use Incognito Mode
If you continue to face issues, try using Incognito Mode:
Open Chrome: Launch the browser again.
Open Incognito Window: Press
Ctrl + Shift + Nto open a new Incognito window.Access the Assessment Link: Paste the assessment link into the address bar and try accessing it again. Incognito Mode can help bypass any cached settings that might be causing problems.
3. Close Background Applications
Ensure that no other applications that use the webcam (such as Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, or Skype) are running in the background. These applications can block access to your webcam, preventing the assessment platform from functioning correctly.
4. Check Webcam Availability
Confirm that your device has a functioning webcam. If your system lacks a webcam, please consider using another laptop or desktop that has a built-in or external webcam.
5. Refresh After Allowing Access
Once you have enabled webcam access, refresh the assessment page to apply the new settings. This step is essential for ensuring that the platform recognizes the changes.
6. Test Your Webcam
To verify that your webcam is working properly, you can use the following link: Webcam Test. This site will help you confirm that your webcam is functioning before you attempt the assessment again.
